For web agencies and freelancers

Know a client's site is down before the client does

One account for every site you look after. Each one is checked from our own network as often as every minute, your status page runs on your own domain, and every client gets a monthly uptime report with your name on it. $14.99 a month for 10 sites - about $1.50 a site.

The phone call every agency dreads

It is 8.40 on a Monday and a client is on the phone: their site has been down since Saturday night, a customer told them, and why didn't you know? The fix usually takes minutes - an expired certificate, a full disk, a plugin update that broke the checkout. What does the damage is that the client found it first. From then on, every invoice for "maintenance" is read with that weekend in mind.

Monitoring turns that call around. You hear within minutes, you are already fixing it when the client notices, and at the end of the month you can show them the record: how often their site was checked, how long it was up, and what happened when it was not. That record is the most persuasive thing a care plan or retainer can carry, because it is measured by someone other than you.

What Pro gives an agency

Every client in one place

10 sites on one account, each with its own name, its own history and its own alert switch. See at a glance which client is having a bad day.

Intervals per site

Every minute for the shop that loses money by the hour, every 30 for the brochure site. Anything from 1 to 60 minutes; we recommend 5.

Alerts that mean something

A failed check is repeated a few seconds later before anything counts. One email when a site goes down, one when it is back - never a stream of noise.

A status page on your domain

status.youragency.com with your logo and name, showing each client site's live state and 90 days of history. Link it from your footer and your clients' footers.

Monthly client reports

One page per site per month: uptime, every outage and its cause, total downtime, response time. Your branding on top, printable to PDF, at a link you forward as it is.

A listing that brings work

Pro agencies can list themselves in the directory below, with their status page beside their name - proof, not a promise, for site owners looking for someone to look after theirs.

Setting it up for your clients

1

Add each client site

Paste the address and give it the client's name. The first check runs within a minute, and the site appears on your dashboard with its live state.

2

Choose how often

Set each site's interval to match what an outage costs that client. The downtime cost calculator is a quick way to have that conversation with them.

3

Put the status page on your domain

Add your logo and name, create one CNAME record, and your status page answers at your own address. Link to it as "Status" from the footer of each client site.

4

Send the report every month

Each site has a report link for every month. Forward it with your invoice, or print it to PDF for the client's file. It stays at the same address for good.

What a client report looks like

Turning uptime into a better retainer

Put a number on the promise

"We keep your site running" is a promise clients cannot check. "99.9% uptime, measured independently, reported monthly" is one they can. The uptime and SLA calculator shows what each level of nines allows in downtime, so you can offer a figure you can actually keep.

Show the work nobody sees

The best month of website care is the one where nothing happens, and it is also the month a client wonders what they are paying for. A report showing thousands of checks and no outages makes an uneventful month visible.

Handle the bad month well

When something does break, the report records when it started, how long it lasted and what failed. Pair it with a short note on what you changed. An outage explained that clearly tends to build trust rather than cost it. For the next one, give your servers an error page that points visitors to your status page.

Agencies that monitor their clients' uptime

Each one below monitors client sites with IsItDown.now and publishes a live status page, so you can see how they look after the sites they run before you get in touch.

Be the first agency listed

The directory opens with its first listing. Pro agencies add themselves from the status page settings in the dashboard: a name, a website, a logo and one line about what you do.

Questions agencies ask

Can I monitor a client's site without asking them?

Only sites you run, or look after for a client with their agreement - that is in our terms. In practice clients like it: a monitored site with a public status page is something you can put in a proposal.

Do my clients see IsItDown.now branding?

Your name, logo and link lead the status page and every monthly report. A single line at the foot says the monitoring is done by IsItDown.now, because an independent measurement is worth more to a client than one you took yourself.

Can each client site have a different check interval?

Yes. On Pro you set the interval per site, anywhere from 1 to 60 minutes. We recommend 5 - fast enough to catch a real outage within minutes, without an alert for every blip.

Does the badge have to go on client sites?

Not on Pro. The badge is the condition of the free plan only; Pro sites are checked on the interval you choose whether or not it is there.

Who gets the alerts?

The email address on your account, once when a site goes down and once when it comes back. Each site has its own switch, so a client in maintenance does not wake you up.

How does the status page go on my own domain?

Add a CNAME record for a name such as status.youragency.com pointing to isitdown.now, then enter that name in your dashboard. The page is served at its root with your branding.

What do the monthly reports contain?

Uptime for the month, every outage with its start, duration and cause, total downtime, the average response time and how many checks were made. One page, printable to PDF, at a private link you can forward as it is.

What happens if I stop paying?

Nothing is deleted. The oldest site keeps running on the free plan and the rest pause, with their history intact, until you come back.

I look after more than ten sites.

Pro covers ten today. If you need more, tell us through the contact page - how agencies actually use this decides what comes next.
